WHY MUTIARA AI
What you gain from
working with us
We are not the right fit for every AI project. Where we are a fit, clients gain a team that will tell them honestly what the system can and cannot do โ before and after it ships.
THE SHORT VERSION
Six reasons firms choose Mutiara AI
Scope written before work begins
The engagement scope, deliverables, and exclusions are documented and agreed before any development starts. You know what you are paying for.
Evaluation results shared in full
You receive the full evaluation report โ accuracy figures, error analysis, edge cases โ not a summary prepared to reassure. The same numbers we see, you see.
Human oversight built in
Every system we build includes defined handoff points where human review takes over. These are part of the design, not added later.
Malaysia-specific design
We account for bilingual documents, local regulatory formats, and operational conditions specific to the Malaysian market when designing and evaluating systems.
Clean handover, no lock-in
You own the system. Documentation is written for your internal team. Post-engagement, you do not need us to keep it running.
Transparent, fixed pricing
Base prices are published. Adjustments for scope changes are agreed in writing before they occur. No surprise invoices at project close.
IN DEPTH
Each benefit, examined
Practitioner expertise, not generalist consulting
The people building your system at Mutiara AI have direct experience deploying machine learning in production environments โ not advising on strategy from a distance. When we say the model needs more training data, or that the document set is too inconsistent for high-accuracy extraction, we are drawing on firsthand knowledge of what breaks in practice.
- Team members with backgrounds in banking, insurance, and operations ML
- Direct experience with local document formats and regulatory filings
- We assess feasibility honestly before taking the work on
Appropriate technology, chosen for the problem
We select tools and models based on what the problem requires, not based on vendor relationships or what is currently attracting attention. For document extraction, that might mean a fine-tuned smaller model over a large general-purpose one. For conversational systems, it means evaluating retrieval approaches against generation approaches for the specific use case before choosing.
- Technology selection documented and explained to the client
- No preferred vendors or platform commissions
- Systems are built to run on infrastructure the client already has where possible
Direct access to the people doing the work
You communicate with the practitioners building your system, not with an account manager. Questions about model behaviour, evaluation results, or implementation decisions go directly to the person who made those decisions. This makes the engagement faster and produces better outcomes.
- No intermediaries between the client and the engineering team
- Weekly written status updates during active development
- Responsive to technical questions during business hours
Pricing that reflects the scope of the problem
Base prices for each service are public. For standard engagements, the price is agreed at the scope stage and does not change unless the scope does. We do not add billable hours for internal coordination, testing, or documentation โ these are part of the engagement. The model audit at MYR 540 delivers the same written rigour as our larger build engagements; the lower price reflects the shorter timeline, not lower standards.
Measurable outputs with documented baselines
We establish a performance baseline before the system is deployed, so you can measure what has changed. For document extraction, that means before-and-after figures on processing time and manual correction rates. For conversational systems, it means measuring resolution rates and handoff rates against the test set. This gives the post-handover team something concrete to monitor against.
- Pre-deployment baseline established for each engagement
- Performance figures included in the handover documentation
- Monitoring guidance so the client knows when to seek a re-evaluation
HOW WE COMPARE
Mutiara AI vs typical providers
Typical approach
- Platform sold first, problem fitted to it afterwards
- Accuracy claims made before examining the client's data
- Evaluation results summarised by the vendor, not shared in full
- Ongoing subscription or retainer required to maintain the system
- Generic document models not tuned to local formats
- Human review added as optional extra, not part of the design
- Pricing tied to usage volume, difficult to forecast
Mutiara AI approach
- Problem examined before any technology is selected
- Accuracy assessment after reviewing the actual document set
- Full evaluation report provided to the client
- System handed over with documentation; no ongoing dependency
- Configuration accounts for Malaysian document conditions
- Human review workflow part of the system design from day one
- Fixed-price engagements, changes agreed in writing
WHAT SETS US APART
Distinctive features of our service
Audit independence
When we conduct a model audit, we do not simultaneously pitch to rebuild the system. Our findings are independent of any interest in follow-on work.
Written error disclosure
Residual error rates for every system we build are documented in writing before deployment. This is not a standard practice among AI vendors โ it is one of ours.
Tuning included post-launch
The Conversational System Build includes three months of post-launch tuning as part of the engagement price. Early production usage reveals things test sets do not.
Sequenced remediation plans
Model audit reports include a sequenced remediation plan with severity ratings โ not a flat list of issues. You know which problems to address first and why.
